Journey To Escape
My poetry isn’t something I’m accustomed to sharing, but it is one of the ‘occupations’ I love to do in my free time. So why not?

What fuels the need to escape?
The raging storm inside only set loose by the release of the mind,
The quiet whisper asking for just a little more…
More distraction, more sensation, more intensity and variation,
More exploration, less hesitation, and more vulnerability leading to an epic culmination.
What drives that need that stems from deep within you,
That forms the connections that are the sinew,
The building blocks of all that’s in you,
That creates a life that’s beautiful, unique and new.
What an epic force it must take,
To create dreams in such a state.
Held together by nothing but your mind,
And so vulnerable to influence…be that honourable, devious or kind.
But are dreams the only manner of escape?
The only form that epic energy takes?
Quite thankfully, that’s not the case,
For mine and everyone else’s sake.
Travel, adventure and moonlit nights,
With stars that shine like a million bright lights,
Intimacy, surrender… a whole different kind of adventure,
That can dominate your thoughts in more ways than you’ll be able to remember.
The liquid that burns on its way down your throat,
And coughing so hard you fear you may just start to croak.
All manners of escape, though not one and the same.
Which will you choose to keep yourself sane?

Bye for now! And I hope you have a fabulous week ahead wherever you are in the world.
